The Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities works with schools, businesses, and communities to achieve success by addressing prejudices, in all forms, in order to improve academic achievement, increase workplace productivity, and enhance local trust through workshops, retreats and customized programs. Allison is Director of Education and Training.
Progressive Communicators Network
PCN is a project of Spirit in Action. We’re a national network of people wh o work as communications professionals or organizers who are focused on racial or economic justice, and who use communications tools and strategy. Allison is a PCNer and former Board Chair.
The Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth
The Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth is the national campaign working to end the practice of sentencing children to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Allison is on the Advisory Board. More Links >>

About Allison
For more than fifteen years Allison M. Conyers has supported organizational efforts to create more inclusive and just communities. She is passionate about facilitating dialogues wherein people with diverse identities and perspectives can all be engaged and involved. In her current position as the Director of Education and Training at the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities she leads professional development and program outcome measurement efforts.
Previously, Allison led communications efforts at national non-profit organizations including the Campaign for the Fair Sentencing of Youth and the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association. In those positions, she developed and facilitated trainings for health care providers, attorneys, advocates, and others across the country. A past board chair of the Progressive Communicators Network, Allison was one of the founding members of the Katrina Information Network in 2005.
Allison earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations from Howard University in 2003, and obtained a Master of Science in Organization Development from American University in 2011.
